Almond
Almond oil is made by pressing the seeds of the almond tree (almond nuts) and extracting the oil that results. Many ancient cultures valued almonds for their healing and health properties, which included high levels of protein, omega-9 fatty acids, and vitamin E. These properties suggest that almond oil can be used to improve the shine and strength of your hair as well as a skin care oil.
How to use
- You can apply almond oil to your hair directly by rubbing a small amount between your palms before applying it. After styling your hair, massage the oil into the ends of the shaft and leave it on.
- Almond oil can also be used to make a conditioning hair mask. Leave on for up to 40 minutes after combining 2 parts coconut oil, 1 part sweet almond oil, and a creamy, natural conditioning agent like avocado.
- Almond oil can be used as a cleanser or to remove makeup gently.
- Reduces puffiness and dark circles under the eyes. Because almond oil is anti-inflammatory, it may help to reduce skin swelling.
- Wash and pat your skin dry. Then, with your fingertips, gently pat a small amount of almond oil onto your face and allow it to absorb into your skin. You don't have to rinse it off if you're using it as a moisturizer.
